Policy & Process Alignment (Global Nonprofit, Human Rights)

The Challenge: International Justice Mission (IJM) was navigating complex policy challenges across multiple countries and compliance systems. Field office staff felt overwhelmed by inaccessible policies, inconsistent documentation, and internal systems that didn’t reflect how people actually work.

The Approach: As part of a graduate consulting team, I facilitated working sessions with IJM staff to surface root causes, identify short-term fixes, and reframe systems from the end-user perspective. We focused on clarity, usability, and practical adoption—delivering recommendations that emphasized small wins with big ripple effects.

The Outcome: Actionable solutions to streamline and humanize policy processes—making them easier to access, understand, and implement. Even more meaningful? The work reconnected staff to the why behind compliance: protecting those they serve. It was mission-driven culture work at its best.
